Mephisto Invests in L-Acoustics K3

In 2006, Christoph Nessel founded Mephisto Veranstaltungstechnik. Since then, the event technology provider has evolved into a full-service company, equally at home in the live entertainment sector as it is at corporate events, galas, and trade shows. With its recent investment in an L-Acoustics K3 system, Mephisto has found the perfect sound reinforcement solution for concerts, festivals, and more since the end of 2023.

“If I had sent a spec sheet directly to L-Acoustics, the result would have been the K3,” says Christoph Nessel, clearly enthusiastic about the compact full-range system. “The K3 is simply the perfect fit for our needs.” Mephisto’s inventory now includes 16 K3 line source elements, eight KS28 subwoofers, and six LA12X amplified controllers.

“We’ve been dedicated L-Acoustics users for years and are still running our first Kara system,” Nessel adds. A passionate concertgoer, he’s long been a fan of the L-Acoustics sound and has worked with many of the French manufacturer’s systems over the years. In addition to Kara, Mephisto’s warehouse in Strengberg near Linz also holds a Kiva system, various ARCS units, and multiple SB subwoofers. “The K3 is the natural next step for us—a true full-range system that also shines in outdoor applications.”

Since mid-November 2023, the K3 system has been in Mephisto’s possession—and has barely seen the warehouse since. In its first few months, it’s been in constant use, with acts like Seiler und Speer, Josh., Melissa Naschenweng, and the Kastelruther Spatzen among the early adopters. “The response to the K3 is the same everywhere. Both clients and audiences are thrilled. When an artist walks into the venue, sees the K3 hanging, and says, ‘Perfect—doesn’t get any better,’ you know you’ve done everything right.”
