Haus der Musik Innsbruck chooses Robe

High brightness, vivid colors, whisper-quiet operation, and maximum versatility — with these demanding requirements, Haus der Musik Innsbruck set out to find the ideal moving lights for the Great Hall, which, with its wide glass façade and unique acoustics, forms the cultural center of the building. After an on-site shootout with several manufacturers, the decision was made in favor of Robe moving lights.

Since the 2018/19 season, Haus der Musik Innsbruck has been using Robe Spiider LED WashBeam moving lights as key and side lights. In 2021, the system was further expanded: in addition to more Spiiders, Robe T2 Profiles were added as front and stage lights in the Great Hall.

A crucial criterion was the noise level of the fixtures used:
“The Great Hall is a classic concert hall built as a complex room-in-room construction,” explains Mag. Florian Horvath, Lighting at Haus der Musik Innsbruck. “Since the hall is used for both large orchestral performances and smaller ensembles, it was especially important to find an extremely quiet moving head without sacrificing output or beautiful color rendering.”

Throughout the year, Haus der Musik Innsbruck hosts a wide range of events — besides concert performances, the Great Hall is also used for award ceremonies, cabaret, and corporate events. Accordingly, the lighting in the hall must be versatile:
“In addition to low noise during operation, we focused especially on output, color rendering, and CRI value. In all these areas, the Robe Spiider and T2 fully convinced us.”

Anyone entering the Great Hall at Haus der Musik Innsbruck is immediately drawn to the large glass window façade behind the stage, which offers a view of a centuries-old tree and the Innsbruck Hofburg, and can be darkened when needed. To perfectly showcase this unique stage setup, Haus der Musik Innsbruck has chosen another Robe specialist: starting this spring, TETRA 1 LED bars will be used as flexible horizon and ambient lighting, illuminating the tree and providing backlighting in the hall for more depth and spatiality.
